Harrah's $100,000 Karaoke to Start Tuesday October 2nd at VooDoo Lounge!
Harrah's North Kansas City will host $100,000 Karaoke on Tuesday nights at 8pm. Contest winners get to play for a chance to win $25,000 each Tuesday in October.
Mix 93.3, Worlds Of Fun, and Ultimate DJ and Karaoke to start Kansas City Idol, a Karaoke contest to start this Friday June 11th at 8 PM! First Place prize is an audition for two record labels, plus $500.
The first qualifying evening will be Friday June 11th at 8 PM. Singers are to check in no later than 7pm. Walk On contestants are encouraged to do so!

Fox Searchlight Films to Promote the new movie "Whip It" at the Roxy tonight!
Free Movie Passes to the advance screening on Tuesday Sept. 29 plus special give aways will include mini posters, wristbands, headbands, bar cups, t-shirts,
trading cards, and of course screening passes.
We will also have themed "Roller Derby" drinks just for the movie. Advance screening tickets and give aways will only be available tonight Thursday 9-24-09!

Professional Sound Services has contracted with Ultimate Karaoke to provide karaoke services for the second season of Harrah's Lucky Break TV show. Harrah's Lucky Break is a 29 week long Karaoke contest open to Kansas City area singers.
The winner will audition for a major record label in Atlantic City or Nashville.

BERLIN (Reuters) - German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, whose passionate and sensitive interpretations of German lieder brought the 19th-century song form to life again for new generations, died on Friday, 10 days short of his 87th birthday. Sometimes described as the most recorded singer in history, Fischer-Dieskau died in the town of Berg on Starnberg Lake in Bavaria, the Bavarian State Opera announced on its website.
